Fan fuse 10 amp

So my new to me 2012 VV would run hot at traffic lights since I got it. I confirmed today that the fans(both radiator and KAMS fan) werent coming on even as gauge read H. I checked the 10 amp fan fuse and sure enough it was blown. Installed a replacement and both fans now come on and cycle like they should.

Any ideas as to why the fan fuse would have blown?

Unless you know the previous owner, there is no way of knowing. If it blows again, then maybe it should be easier to determine why.

Hi Craigmri;

I don't have a KAMS ('09 1700 Classic) so I don't know how it is supposed to be wired, but I would check with the dealer and see if the KAMS should have its own fused circuit and not be wired up with the radiator fan fuse/circuit. Might be a bit of an overload for that circuit if both come on exactly at the same time...??

Just a suggestion. Good luck finding out what might have happened.
