Vaquero sissybar question

Is Kawasaki the only manufacturer of a sissybar for this bike? I have searched all over the web and can't find anyone who makes one other than Kawi. I'm not too thrilled about the high price tag of the OEM gear which is why I ask.

1996 Harley Davidson FXDS with a lot of stuff. Yes, it's fast, yes it will pull the front tire in 1-3rd. No it's not a stock evo.

That is one thing I have noticed that is swaying me away from purchasing a vaq. Just like with most kawi cruisers not much as far as aftermarket goes.

I think you're going to find the more popular bikes like the 900's have more aftermarket support. I for one, would love to see more performance oriented aftermarket stuff one of these days... especially for the 1700. Would be nice to be able to put high lift cams and dome tops in one. My little 80" evo is putting out more HP than a stock 1700 right now and thats ridiculous.

Heck i have a 900 and i am disappointed in the aftermarket support for it. you would think with how popular and the fact they haven't changed for 7+ years there would be more out there.

Guy theses are not Harleys with 100 years of production and aftermarket support. Just saying. It would be great if there was more aftermarket. As for the sissybar it is the only one I know of made for the vaquero. Thunder MFG also makes a 4" extension to raise the backrest.

Thanks for the info on the 4" extension. Guess I'll be shelling out... oh well.

I had one manufacturer that made quite a bit of stuff for my last scoot... a Yamaha Venture... tell me no one will ever make much for these 1700's as there are not enough of them out there......

I don't see too many of them on the road, so you're right. Not many out there to begin with.

Thought I would give an update. My wallet is now $600 something bucks lighter but I'm very impressed with the quality of it. Surprised it was TIG welded. I was a little put off by having to use a hole saw on the fender trim, but aint nothing a welder can't handle right? Now to order the 4" extension.
