Does anyone have OEM rear speakers on their Voyager 1700?

I have a 2013 Voyager 1700 and I'm considering having the dealer install Kawasaki OEM rear speakers while the bike's in the shop for some other work. But I have a question.

Whenever I see pictures of them installed, their location looks like if you had a passenger who was a little "thick in the rear section", their hips and butt would be blocking the speakers. It looks like they would have their hips and butt pressed right up against them. And I wonder how much benefit they'd provide in that situation where they would seem to be blocked.

Does anyone have these installed and ride with a passenger who might be a little "full figured"?

I really appreciate your input.

Dont think he was talking comfort wise, although should be considered, but how well do you,or you passenger hear them. Are they worth the investment if you ride with a corn fed passenger most of the time?

I would suggest taking that slightly fuller figured gal to the dealer and have her sit on the back. I think the speakers are far enough out that it should be ok. Now if the gal is really full figured then all bets on sound clarity are off. Worst case is they are additional support for her and you enjoy them when solo...

I see no real issue...

Thanks all for the replies. The dealer doesn't have a Voyager in stock right now, much less one with rear speakers installed. But I think I'm just going to take the chance. I had rear speakers that came standard on my '94 Voyager XII and my passenger at the time appreciated them.

Now if the new Voyager only came with the passenger remote control for the sound system that was standard on Voyagers 20 years ago...

My wife is full figured and I can still hear the speakers when she's on the back.

If you buy the Kawasaki passenger control cable, they do have full control over their volume separately from yours. I have one for my wife.

Its not complete without them. They make a world of difference and as stated before the wife thinks they are perfect. If you are mechanically inclined then they are reasonable easy to install as they also come with instructions and placement templates.
