Vaquero Spark Plugs

Had bike dealer serviced, they insisted on fitting new plugs. They've had the plugs out and cleaned them before no problem.
As soon as I got on the bike to ride off I knew something was off with it, had a weird little chirp on acceleration at low revs and very little engine braking. I suspect a loose spark plug. Dealer is top notch and will have the bike in, but I'd rather just do it myself as the weather here is cold now, and I missed my ferry to Spain today, so feeling very sorry for myself.

How do I get access to the plugs, is it necessary to remove the silver plastic outer cylinder head covers to remove the spark plug caps????

Please help.

Thanks.

The 1700's have one of the most efficient designs for a spark plug, and with the very hard Iridium tip they do not need ANYTHING until 30,000 mls. No cleaning, nothing.

Hope you get it figured out.

Took bike back into dealer today, they checked it all out, even called me into the workshop to show me it all in pieces, and plugs weren't loose.
Must be something to do with the cold idle causing the noise, as once the bike is warm it stops.

One advantage to having an absolute first rate dealer, for which nothing is too much trouble.

Pulled the plugs on the Vaq as they had over 33,000 mls on them. Electrodes in perfect shape, good color too and no compression blow-by between the shell and the porcelain.. Cleaned the threads, applied more anti seize and stuckem back in. I will check them at some point in time in the future, who know when tho!!
