Going to buy aftermarket seat for my 2010 Nomad

I have decided to buy a Hartco seat for my 2010 Nomad. I had a Hartco on my Valkyrie, and I thought it was terrific. I prefer Hartco because they will make it for me personally, and to my specs, unlike some other brands. If anyone is curious, they do not advertise the 1700 Nomad, but he is capable of making the front seat, and I am gonna send him my rear seat for recovering so it will match.
So, if any is interested, I am listing a front gel seat and a utopia backrest in the classifieds.
Thanks, and take care, Eric

Hi Eric,

Any news on your Hartco saddle?

I never heard of them before you mentioned them, but they sound interesting.

I am hoping to sell my gel seat set with utopia backrest first, so I am holding off buying the hartco. I had A hartco on my Valkyrie, so I know it'll work for me.

I found a place in NC that will restuff any seat with memory foam, gel, both.... Only costs like 225 and the best part is that you know it will fit your bike because it is your seat. I'll be sending them my seat this winter for my bike that I got this year.

What about Day Long seats? I have been told they are good but when I looked them up the were damn expensive.

I have one as well and would agree on both points, comfort and wallet...

One other point, the design of the Day Long seat and their padding will most likely make the seat higher or at least feel higher. You may have to adjust the way you stop and I hear some don't like that.

The seat's normal design has "wings" that help to better fit you butt, HOWEVER, they do reduce your ability to drop your legs straight down when you stop. To drop your legs at a stop you may need to make a forward shift. I only have about 1,000 miles on mine and don't even notice that I make the shift anymore.

Friends tell me I need to get in shape. Round is a shape, isn't it?

Stephut66'
That is the route I have decided to go with my seat. I wanted another Hartco, but I am going to go with Mean City Cycles double decker memory foam modfor the drivers seat only. Cost is $165 plus shipping. I already have it scheduled for mid December. Hopefully, this will be sufficient for my needs.
This way, I can still use my Utopia backrest which I have installed into my rear seat already.
When I get it back, I,ll post about it.
Take care, Eric
