Hole Saw Exhaust Mod - 2011 Nomad

I cut out the the rear baffles of my '11 Nomad (just one on each side). Not a huge difference in sound, but a little louder and deeper.

I like the changes.

If anyone is interested, I used a 1 1/4" bimetallic hole-saw on a 12" x 1/4" drill bit. I wrapped the hole saw in blue masking tape so it was centered. Total time to complete the mod was about 10 minutes including the time it took to fish-out one of the cut disks that failed to come out with the hole-saw.

Just wait until you hit 40,000 miles. My stockers are definitely loud. My wife thought I was riding the Mean Streak with Bub Jugg Huggers the other day when I pulled out on the Voyager.

I have a long way to go before I catch up with your 40K!

I wonder how the stock pipes get louder...corrosion?

Hey twowheeladdict, did you remove your baffles or have your stockers just gotten louder over the course of the 40k miles? I'm considering some kind of exhaust mods, during the off season, for my 2012 Nomad. Baffle removing or replacing the slip-ons with either Cora Tri-ovals or Vance & Hines. Baffle removal would save me mucho denero that could be spent on other accessories, if I thought I'd be happy with their sound.

It seemed to get louder every time I redlined it. I did not modify the pipes, but have had many ask me what pipes did I have installed on the bike. I bought it new in '10 and people started asking me after one year and 15,000 miles. I now have closer to 45,000 miles or so.
