Front end squeal in wet weather?

My '94 squeals somewhere down in front when it's wet, only when I accelerate.

I tried lubing the speedo cable, thinking it might be that, but there still seems to be a bit of a squeal sometimes. (can't be sure - I haven't ridden it in really wet weather since, plus I didn't grease it properly but just used cable lube)

Thoughts?

I was hoping no one would say that

I'll try greasing the speedo cable properly, and if it's not that, then I don't think there's anything left except the bearings...

Garage
Jack front wheel & check for any roughness while spinning the wheel...Also could be brake pads.

If at first you do succeed, try not to look surprised.

Turns out it wasn't the front end at all - I think it sounded like it was coming from the front due to sound reflecting off the windshield. It's actually the drive belt squealing, which seems to be thoroughly discussed on these forums. (it's a '94 - I think they switched to a chain in '95 or '96)

Glad you figured it out. Do you know what specifically was causing it to squeal? For what it's worth, there's an HD belt that works. I can't remember the part number of the top of my head but it's commonly available used on ebay because owners switch to narrower belts when installing wider wheels and tires. Last I looked you could grab a good one for about $60 vs $300 or so for the kawasaki version new.
