Vance and Hines SlashCut Staggereds question

I picked up a set of V & H SCS exhaust today, and I must say, installation was easy, even for me lol. My only issue was the connection at the "header." The length of the stock screw provided seemed a little short, and the stock nuts did fit with the new pipes, however they only took a couple turns to become tight. It seems like an issue with the way the VH pipes were made, that they should have used longer screws.... Hopefully someone out here can relate and let me know what, if anything, was done... ride safe!
