I'm so excited!!!

Hello to all. Just picked up a 08 Vulcan 900 custom on saturday. Black. It is used but only has 2400 miles on it. Sweet ride. Not a scratch on her. All it needed was a good cleaning. Now it's time to do some mod's and I would like some advice. I'm 5'6" and the reach is pretty good but I'm thinking about adding a riser to the handle bars to get an inch or two pull back. Anybody try this yet?? Second is a new seat for two up riding. The custom seats not built for 2 up. Then there is the windshield. Thinking I'm going to need 17" abovr the headlight to see over it while riding. Any help you can give would be great.

Congratulations on your purchase, they are sweet machines! I don't know about any risers for the custom, but someone will chime in.

Congrats on the new ride and oh BTW, the Home Office just called and you're being transfered to Siberia for 2 years as the company's PR Rep to that area of the world. Year rond heavy snow is projected so you won't need to worry about bringing you bike and they want you there by next Tuesday....Bummer!!!!

Just kidding. May you have many long and pleasant journeys on you Vulcan (good choice)... I have a 1 1/2 inch riser on my Classic and it made a big differance.

Risers on the Custom are welded to the bars; a one peice unit. So, I looked at getting the Risers and Bars from a Classic, but after seeing the price that Kawasaki wanted changed my mine. Cruiser Customizing and others list many different risers that would work well and look good also, for about 120 for a set. Bars, 1 inch, should be reasonably priced, (even the Kawasaki bars were not too bad, but the risers were golden).

Check the Kawasaki accessories for the Cafe Windshield, and see if it would fit your needs. It looks good on the Custom, IMO.

Congratulations on a very fine ride.

Thanks for the advice Shiloh. If I was going to Siberia they would have to make room for the 900 in carry on. I'm sure I could fit a sky on the front and I know they make spike tires.

I've seen these Baron risers at DK listed for all the 900 series. Is that what you're looking for?
