Memphis Shades Bullet Fairing

I realize a lot of guys want to get as much info as they can before making a purchase for their bike; such is the case with this particular windshield. Here's my two cents:

- Looks great. It gives a uniqueness to my bike, even a sporty sleekness that suits the 900 custom. It's not awesome, but more my style versus a traditional oval plastic windshield.
- Installation was a little frustrating, nothing the average guy can't handle; just over an hour.
- Performance is exactly what I wanted. Takes the majority of the wind off my torso (thus sparing my shoulders somewhat during the long rides), and causes a bit more of an aggressive wind over the top of the windshield onto your face. It's perfect with my full-face helmet, couldn't be happier, even improved my rides around town. But if your determined to stay away from a full-face, this windshield will probably just annoy you.
- Paid roughly 250.00 for windhsield and mounting bracket, sold separately.

The things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. People are good; honor, courage, virtue mean everything; power and money mean nothing; good always triumphs over evil; true love never dies. A man should believe in those things, because they are worth believing in.

Great pics. I have the same bike and was wondering how it would look on the SE. Likin' the sissy bar too, nice and subtle. I'd definitely do the blacked out version, looks sweet.

Thanks, took me some searching to find something just right. That is the only sissy bar and luggage rack that I could find that actually comes painted black. Who knew it would be so hard to find.

Yeah, a strong draft of wind comes over the top and splats all over your face. Nothing too uncomfortable for me, but you will notice a difference as compared to before the windshield. If you install this and wear a full-face helmet however, the aerodynamics of the hemlet are perfect for whatever draft your catching. For the little amount of area the windshield covers, it makes a wonderful difference. I rode a memorial ride just today, I'd say I put over 300 miles on it, never went over 70, and I'm very happy with how it performed.

Bit of back story, I got a little crazy, or rather stupid, and made a ride to the Southwest corner of MO from the Southeast corner of NC. 1200 mile route there, then a 1053 mile route back. I got to know my bike very well after that. I didn't have the windshield for it before I left (or my mustang seat!) and now that it's finally on, there is a very notable difference of comfort, specifically from the shoulders in, and the neck down. When I want to ride hard, I set a pace of just under 100 miles in 90 minutes and than stop for a rest for about 15 or 20 minutes. That pace is hard for me, and my shoulders (amongst other things) get sore from the wind. After today's ride, I feel my upper back and shoulders faired better because of the windshield. I believe I could set that pace a little easier (I was aiming for the "Saddlersore Challenge" with the Iron Butt Assoc.). BUT, if you want to cut the wind way down, get a bigger windshield.
