Good Deal?

Red 900 Classic with 13,791 miles, cobra pipes, FI2000 fuel processor, grips, studded seat and back rest for sale from a dealer.... $4,699. From what I can see has small normal wear and tear scratches on tank. Tires look okish. This will be my first bike. Is it worth getting now even though I cant ride until march when I take the course? I will have to pay tax and finance about $3500 of it. What do you guys think. not tomention they might go down say to... $4,500.......or should I keep looking till aprilish I know this is the bike I want though...Vulcan 900

What year? I'm guessing a 2008? $4699 sounds a bit high with that many miles. NADA says between $4200-$5500 (including the aftermarket exhaust).

Is it a Classic or Classic LT? Is it a Mustang seat? If so thats about $500 Are they Kuryakyn grips? Thats about $60 The pipes $600 and FI $180 and backrest $400 if bought at full price are about $1800 all together. The miles aren't that high. 6900 a year. I did 11k my first year of riding. and bout 8 the next. This last year only 3k but that is because I got a company truck to drive home.

What would be more important is maintence. I bought my 07 last spring with 12k. But the PO had everything dealer done. Sometimes I would trust myself over a dealer, but at least you have proof it was done.

I was speaking in terms of miles that affect book value; in those terms, it's over.

To me for a cruiser its about right. But according to Kelly Blue Book. Which I usually go by nada for values and just about everyone does. They say it should be around 8800 miles.

Its hard to say though. Cuz jez wingers put on 20 to 30. There alot of things we don't know bout this bike that Switch is talking about. Cuz if its a LT nada value jumps up to 6200.

I did go by NADA. Well, he gave the color which was a pretty good indication it was a 2008 900 Classic; Classic LTs are dual color.

Yeah I didn't look to see what the colour options were for the years. I lost my link to this one page that had a breakdown of every bike out there for the past few years. They had all the colour options. I figured the same thing that it prob isnt a LT cuz he only mentioned red. He couldn've left out the two tone. I was just thinking LT cuz it has the studded seat. Which the factory does on the LT. Hopefully its a Mustang. Plus if it was a LT he would prob mentioned the windshield and bags.

Update

I believe its just the Classic. Has a sissy bar no shield, not sure what kind of grips book they look nice, its a 2007 no bags but looks like they brackets are there? Floor boards. Also KBB in my area is $5000 retail. And according to engine size the milage is just right. So I would imagine if I can talk them down to $4500 I should probably go for it?

Yeah that sounds like a standard classic. They both come with drivers floorboards. It doesn't sound like a bad price to me. Look at other bikes online and see what they are going for.

I looked around on CL for some 07 classics around the country. Most have a few less miles but are asking for a $1000 more. Didn't know what area you are in.
