Tire replacement upsizing
So I have been wondering about the advantages of upsizing my tires upon replacement. My front is the original with about 14k on it. So it kinda needs it. The rear has like 3k so it doesn't need it. But it is a 170 instead of a 180.
After going on a few longer rides lately that actually had me pushing myself and this bike. I noticed the front end kinda shimmying on tight corners. I don't know if it cuz of the crappy tread these stockers have or is cuz of the size. So if I upsized the front tire to a 140 or a 150 would there be any advantage or would it be better to go thiner. I know that the custom has an 80 in front and I have heard that the custom has a bit better handling.
The rear was replaced by the dealer I bought it from cuz the stocker was almost bald. He did it for 'free'. I went along with it cuz I had a hundred some miles to ride home and most of it turned out to be in the rain. So I figured even if it was crap it would be better then nothing. It is an IRC brand, never heard of them, plus it is a size smaller then stock. Same question, going up to a 200 would it be better or have draw back. Other then the extra cost would a 200 be better for handling?
