Not sure if this is part of your issue or not... But in 2008 when I got my 2007 Classic, there was a recall notice dealing with the fuel lines or something. I can't remember the specifics. I think it was something about a bad plastic housing on the fuel sending unit or maybe the fuel pump that could crack and leak fuel. Kawasaki fixed it on the newer bikes, but all 2007's were supposed to go to the local dealer to be checked. They looked at mine and said it was good and did not need replacing. I am not sure if you did this inspection or not. If not, that is where I would start. Good luck. Now if someone could just help me find the fuel leak on my Jeep I would be set.

I have an 07 Classic. I smell the same thing. Mine runs good so I am not going to fix what is not broken. THe recall was for hose clamps. I past 20k today, so I think it is safe to say the hose is not going to come off. My mech checks all that during my annual spring checkup.

I would have the dealer's mechanic look at it. It isn't normal, I never have experienced anything like it and I have owned a few bikes in my life. My 900LT has just under 8,000 miles on it and it doesn't have any unusual odors.

I took mine in. They basically check to make sure that the clamp was the correct one. So if they do fix it, its cuz its broke. If it ain't broke they aint fixing it. I think that they may have been using a clamp that was a bad style. Believe me, fuel lines leaking aint cool.

What? Did Ghost Rider have to stop and take a leak?
