Leaky exhaust gasket

So I noticed the other day that my front cylinder exhaust is leaking at the engine. Is there an actual gasket there, or is it a sealant? I am not quite sure how to remove my exhaust in sections instead of both pipes at once.

I have "Hard Khrome" pipes. At the front of the pipe there is the chrome cover and it is in the way of the two bolts that hold the pipe to the engine. How do I get that chrome cover off?

Also will any gasket work? I do need to get one from Hard Khrome. and do I need to use any chemicals on there like rtv head gasket silicone?

Also could this be why my gas mileage is not all that good.?

Yes there are exhaust gaskets and they should have been replaced when the pipes were installed. You might try just re-torqueing the exhaust nuts (12/ftlb) and see if that helps. That should have been done within the first hundred miles of the pipes being installed anyway. The gaskets are crush type and you'll need to get them from the Kawi dealer....about $8/pr. Not familiar with Hard Chrome setup, but if there is a shield covering the exhaust nuts you'll most likely have to either loosen or remove the heat shield to get at them.

Real gun control is having the ability to hit your target.
