Can't wait to see it finished.

Ok, here's the next part...

The last part will follow as soon as i have the cover for locking finished. I am still working on a aluminium cover which should hide the locking mechanism.

Bye

Hi Ernie,

there are nuts. But this only temporarily. The cover i am working on shall cover it all. The aluminium cover will be fixed with two carriage bolts. I think this will look not that ugly as it looks now.

After few try and errors at the weekend, here is the actual development. Previosly i made a cover of a stainless steel plate. It was painted in black. But i didn't like it. It was looking not that good to me. It had a lot of scratches before i was even finnised mounting of the cover.

The actual cover is made of aluminium diamond plate and has already an additional plate with slots on the upper part. These slots are destined for mounting a toolbag. This additional cover should cover the backside of the seat. Finally i will paint it in black too.

to be continued...

Maybe it's just me, but it sure seems like a lot of work and trouble to keep the worst half of the worst seat ever made, on your bike.

Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.

Hi Ron,

i like the geniune seat of vn900 the most. All aviable solo seats are more narrow and have bead behind the seat to cover the lock. Thats why i want to mod the geniune seat to solo (in fact for fun). The only bad thing is the locking system of the vn900. I think the vn900 hast the most unusual seat mount. I am shure it will look better when i paint it to black and put a toolbag on it .

Just wait until it's done.
