Total power saving after entire HID/LED mods

Hey guys.....never seen anyone post just how much power saving they have after the LED lighting mod. so here i go.

1st: DDM Tuning HID mod.
OEM headlight: 60/55W
DDM tuning HID: 35W H4 Hi/Lo

Wattage saving: 20W( normal riding with low beam)

2nd: All 4 LED turn signal mod
OEM light bulb front: 5W running, 21W blinking x2
OEM light bulb back: 21W when blinking x2

LED light bulb front: 1W running, 2W blinking or less x2
LED light bulb back: 2W blinking or less x2

Wattage saving when:
Running:8W
blinbking:42W

3rd: LED break lights mod
OEM light bulb: 5W running, 21W braking
LED light bulb: 1W running, 2W braking

Wattage saving when:
Running:4W
Braking:19W

SO in a senario lets say we just riding on highway
OEM wattage on running: 55W+5W+5W+5W=70W
LED/HID wattage on running:35W+1W+1W+1W= 38W

In another senario lets say we stop at left turn lane waitting to turn
OEM wattage with holding brake and turn signal on:
55W+21W+21W+5W+21W=123W

LED/HID wattage with holding brake and turn signal on:
35W+2W+2W+1W+2W=42W

So here is the story why i want to post this to let you guys know.
I have installed Kuryakyn battery indicator gauge, as i saw some people have the same problem as i have. what happen is you always only get one green light(13V) and sometime drop to yellow light(12V) when holding brake and turn signal on. If i rev a little bit on yellow it will turn back to green.

so guess what happen after i swap out all lights to LEDs and add HID kit.
I saw 2nd GREEN LIGHT comes on!!!! I never seen it before. I was so happey.
its up to (13V-14V), pretty sweet!! lots power so my battery will last a lot longer. I save those power for my speakers. you might have your reason for something else too. a heated something...lol

Happy modding!!

How much cost do you have in the mods? Also can you provide the parts listing? Î would love to reduce the power drain for sure. I would think it would also allow the stator to run cooler. Thanks for the info.

LED doesnt seem very bright because i didnt get the white color LED.
if you are getting it. i will suggest you get white color LED since our light lencese are already colored. just a note.

Also you need signal relay to slow the LED blinking, i got it from cyclegears at local store for 14.99+tax, i think it was from speedmetal

also remember to take the signal indicator light out so your LEDs won't all light up and blink at the same time on all 4 signal. or you can slice the wire in the meter to put two diode kit which lot more work and i dont want to void worranty. all acc i have add on to the bike are external. I only tap into wire but never cut off wire to mod it.

Hope you got enough answers. any question let me know.

Here's some LED turn signal clusters
http://www.customdynamics.com/kawasa...signal_led.htm

Below is a diode kit for turn signals, the diodes prevent all 4 turn signals from flashing at the same time when using LEDs for turn signals.
http://www.customdynamics.com/loadeq...iser_Diode_Kit

Below is diagram to install diode kit if your bike has a circuit board connector in the speedo, wire colors are for 04 1500 classic.

Below is the diode kit connection with bulb with no circuit board

Here is a Standard DOT (2 wire) Flasher to bring signaling flash rate back to normal when using LEDs on 04 1500 classic, with this flasher you will lose the automatic cancel feature for the turn signal, when using LEDs for signals the flash rate will be fast to indicate to the driver there's a burnt out bulb

Here is a link below to the different HID bulb types

Here's a Youtube video on the BikeMaster HID
