vn900 custom first mods

Hey guys. I've been riding for a few years now and decided to go from a sport bike to a cruiser. Once I saw the 900 custom I had to have it. Brought mine home this weekend.

I haven't even had a chance to take it out because of the snow but I already have the itch to mod.

I was looking into this exhaust

Does anyone have any feedback on this exhaust? Also what other mods are a must have firsts?

Get some grips...make a big difference. Maybe the LED brake light and turn signal from Low and Mean. It really cleans up the rear end.

Depends on what you're going for. If you're looking for sound improvement, go with some mods to the stock exhaust before you spend money. I drilled holes in the end plate of my baffles and the plug out of the center. My pipes sound great now.

I've only had my 900 Custom for 8 months now. I've got aftermarket grips and bags on mine and my next purchase will be a new seat. The seat should have been the priority. Kawi's OEM seat is HORRENDOUS! It's been described as a three-finger prostate exam.

John, had a 2007 900 Custom - best bike I ever owned. Had it lowered 1", put a 235 Venom back tire on it and a Big Air kit(which I installed myself -so it can't be too hard). Changed out the handlebars - personal thing. Put different risers, from Scootworks, and buckhorns on it. Had a Windvest windshield. Got 50 mpg, was comfortable to ride - sold it to a friend, 2 years ago, when it had 25,000 miles on it and it is still going strong. Oh, and I had Roadburner black pipes on it - great sound. They are made by DG, excellent pipes. Hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I did mine. Also put a Mustang seat on it which helped a lot.

mc Exhaust

I ride a 1500 classic , however that model of the 900 is brilliant and they look a million dollars on the road. Ive seen one and heard one with the exhaust you mentioned and they are very nice sounding

Mirror mounted L.E.D. turn signal indicator. This mod was kind of a pain!! Took longer and cost more than I had originally thought...... But I love it!!
