fiberglass packing

I have the Cobra Speedster Longs and really like the pipes except for when winding thru the gears or on a long incline and they are just a little loud for me. Someone suggested trying to wrap the baffle with fiberglass packing like you would use in a dirt bike. I rode dirt bikes for years so I decided to give it a try. I found that the baffle is very difficult to get back in with the whole piece of wrap so I pealed the wrap in half like layers in a biscuit and I had enough to wrap both baffles with one pack (about $7.00). The change in the tone is just what I was looking for and the clack it had under a hard pull is all but gone. The only thing I'm not sure about is how long it will last before I have to repack. So if your pipes are just a little too loud you might give the packing a try.
