I really hate to point this out, but $253 for the 600 mile check? Mine cost me $125 and included belt adjust, slight clutch adjust, and oil/filter, along with a general checking of a few fasteners. Here's my advice:
Learn to do your own oil changes. It ain't hard to do. There's not a whole lot to go over on the 900 that you can't do yourself. I don't know if I go along with Rich on the 4000 mile oil change if you're running dino oil. With synthetic it's OK. Might even go a little longer.
The last time I took mine to the dealer was for the first checkup only (currently about 8000 miles). The next time he sees it will be at 15K for the valve clearance check.
