Saddle Bag Supports

Bought a 2009 Vulcan 900 classic and it has bags on it but no supports. PO just had a small bungee cord tied from the bag to the passenger foot pegs on each side.

Do I need to buy supports for any reason?

I would. If the bags somehow get tangled up in the rear wheel, you're going to be in a lot of trouble...

Oviously your call, but I would recommend the supports. If for no other reason, they will keep the bags out of your wheel. They will also better secure your bags to the bike and keep your ride from growing leather wings flapping down the road.

Yeah can understand that, but I cant see how they would. I don't mind buying if they are needed but $150 seems steep for a set. The bike is a 2009 and I assume the PO rode like this for 3 years.

They are for the 900 I assume? Anyone know if anything special is needed if I add these supports and a cobra sissy bar?

I will buy them assuming I don't need anything additionally for the cobra sissy bar.
