axles and wheel spacers

Anyone know what material the axles and wheel spacers are made out of? Are they Chrome, polished aluminum? After sitting in the garage all winter they have some oxidation build up on them. I tried using nevrdull to clean them up but still not good enough to my liking. Can I get them repolished professionally or should I just replace them?

I imagine the axle itself is chromed steel The spacers do look like aluminum and are light enough to be when I had them off. I noticed the same thing and was thinking do I hit them with very fine grit sandpaper and paint them silver or just clean them but the corrosion didn't come off easy. I haven't decided yet what to do.

Only the right side of the front axle appears chrome to me, right? The spacers front + rear seem aluminum and the rear axle seems all aluminum. I am considering having the spacers and rear axle ends polished, then powdercoat the right side of the front axle.
