Windshield

I am a new owner of a 2006 Classic and would like to add a windshield but don't want a mamoth version.

Are there any recommendations for a small to medium sized windshield that is relatively easy to take on and off?

Thanks in advance for any hwlp here.

Hi Rynoman, I have the stock windshield on mine. I have a 2007 Classic. I tell you what I wouldn't take that thing off for nothing. If I did, I would be covered with bug guts. Not to mention my teeth! lol. I'm not sure where you live but you may take that into consideration.

I'm currently putting on the Memphis Shades 15" slim model. Comes with quick disconnect mounts option, which I got, just loosen four allen bolts and it slips right off. Also got the lower deflectors from them also.

Like a bonehead I bought a 'scratch and dent' from JPCycles for half price and it didn't come with the trim that goes across the windshield and down both sides. So now I am fabricating it from 1" aluminum strips. I'm such a dumbass.

I'm with Handlebarhorse ... I wouldn't trade the stock windshield for NOTHING. When I'm out riding all day 150+ miles, the other riders in the pack are covered with bugs while I don't have a speck on me! West Virginia is, of course, a big coal state so there are plenty of coal trucks wherever you go. While everyone else is coughing up coal dust, I'm breathin' just fine.

I just put a Memphis Shades Trigger Lock on my '07 Classic and I can't tell you how happy I am. It makes a world of difference both from not from becoming a human flyswatter and from a fatigue level. It comes off just as easy as it goes on. Check out eBay, I got mine brand new for about $100 cheaper than I got quoted at any of my bike shops around here.

Happy riding!

I have the Memphis Shades Slim 17" and it works great - wouldn't go anywhere out of town without it. It's not too big so it doesn't overpower the bike's look. Comes off in about 5 seconds, and on in about 10 seconds.

vulcandude, what's the rest of your setup? (i.e. lightbar, crashbar)

I've got an 06 Classic with Cobra lightbar and crashbar, trying to figure out any options other than an expensive OEM shield. Am told the Memphis Fats won't work in that setup without pushing the spots forward, wondering if the Slim is the same way...

I've got a "Switchblade" 22" 2-up style w/s on my customer. I use it for the cooler weather and it's awesome. It goes on and off in seconds with no tools required. I can also buy a medium and shorty style w/s and clip it right on. I highly recommend this system.
