PCV vs Powerpro

I meant the Title to be "PCV vs PowerPro" I screw'd up.

I have the Fi2000 tri-pot which I really don't need right now since I just have pipes and no extra intake. I plan to eventually get one, but the small amount of fiddling with the Fi seems to be a pain. Having to ride, stop, pull of the seat, make a little adjustment, reassemble, and repeat. Either that and have to spend a few hundred to have it adjusted in a controlled condition. The PowerPro sounds sweet, but is it really worth the extra money. I read a really good review yesterday from a guy (PowerPro Test) but since he was going from not having any kind of fuel management controller at all there really isn't a good comparison other then a good review which seems to make me even more interested in the controller.

I wish I could find a good review where somebody has a bike with pipes and intake and does a comparison between the two modules, unless the installation of the PCV is too complex for a quick plug and play change out.

I know that the PowerFlo doesn't say that it adjusts the valve timing, and the PCV says it does. Which I am not quite sure how that works. And to get the autotuning from PCV you have to weld on a O2 bung which on my HardKrome pipes not sure where that would be at since they are one piece and pretty much all enclosed in the double wall chrome.

So maybe since I don't do riding with any drastic altitude changes spending the few hundred on a DynoTune would be best.

Basically man your not going to notice any difference until you put some sorta fuel management system on it. The PCV is very easy to install and is plug and play. When you get the PCV all you do is load the software on your PC and it automatically downloads the MAPS available for you specific bike I believe there there was 14 available for the 900...chances are they have a map for you specific exhaust and air intake...for mine I ran the map for Cobra exhaust and K&N Big Air Kit. The MAP may not be as good as taking it to a dyno and having a pro tune it using the PCV but its pretty damn close and hell of a lot cheaper!!!

I went to the Cobra HP-PowerPro fuel manager from the Dobek Electronic JetKit for VN900. The Dobek was good. The Cobra woke the bike up!

My 9' runs awesome all the time, in every gear, under every kind of riding. It works as advertised. I bought it instead of the PCV because I don't have a bung, don't want to pay to have one installed, and don't want to deal with maps. I change out pipes and air intake occasionally (just becuase I like to tinker) and the Cobra unit adjusts automatically. It's awesome.

I am sure the PCV works well also. I have never read a complaint about it. However, change out your pipes or air kit, you have to get a new map from what I understand. If you keep everything the same, no issues.

Yeah they have a map for my DG 3" Big Straights Stock or aftermarket air filter. Not sure but I assume when they say aftermarket they are referring to something like the PowerFlo or a BAK, not just a drop in K&N filter. Cuz further down they have that specifically reference the BAK.
