Exclamation 2008 custom $5800 good price?

Looking at a 2008 Custom for $5800. It has zero miles. I was wondering if you guys think this is a good price. And if any known issues with this year/model I should know about. Thank ahead of time.

For a brand new bike, that's a good price. It's only about $600 over the Blue Book price of a similar used bike.

But I'd still try to get the dealer to give you some discounts on extended warranty, or riding gear, etc. It's a buyer's market these days.

If it's the bike you want, and there aren't cheaper ones available, then it's a good price.

Hey Slowgoin,
Just to give you an idea... in August I bought a 2009 LT with 3800 miles... a mustang seat was the only thing added by the first owner, besides what came from the factory... sissybar with back rest, leather bags and windshield. I paid essentially $6K for it and other than an insignificant nick it was perfect. I think I got it for a good price and could not be happier with ANY other motorcycle. Many or most people will tell you, it is geared too low and in my case I sprung for the pulleys from scootworks... just don't deal with them directly... buy from a retailer (both... $540). They finish off the nearly perfect bike from Kawasaki... Clint

Sounds a little high but you can check kelly blue book for motorcycles , also has this bike been sitting in the dealership for the past three years since it has no miles. That seems unusual to me

I got my 2008 Classic with 1600miles on it from a local dealer for about the same price this past October (but they also through in two new helmets and a new in-box Kuryakyn GranTour Bag)

No, it's not that unusual these days to see a new bike that old at a dealership - I saw a lot of similiar situations at dealers while looking for mine this past late summer and fall.

Have them throw in some of the Warranty Work (first 3 oil changes during break-in and the requisite checks/adjustments/corrections etc) that you'll miss do to the bike's age and I think it's a good deal if it's what you want.

I was reading something about recalls.... do these have the transmission recall?

I bought a Honda VFR 800 that was 4 years old and 0 miles on it. Some stuff just don't sell in some areas so I know it happens.

Also I am in the Army in South Korea. Buying this while I am deployed here and having a family member trailer it to storage for me.

The bike has Hard Leather looking bags mounted on it and a small windshield from what the salesmen told me. Said those 2 things came to about $700. I am waiting for actual pictures to be emailed.

'08 Vulcan 900 0 miles: $5800 plus $499freight, tax, title, tag.... the norm stuff.

or

'09 Yamaha Vstar 950 no add ons and 1500 miles: $5997 with $199 set up, tax, title, tag
