Just got a new Metzler rear, stock size. Love it. Maybe it is the difference between new and worn out, but I love the ride. Looking to get a new front at the 8k service.

I am running an Avon rear. You can feel that bad boy bite into the road. The only difference though is I have the 230, so maybe it's because it is a wider tire, I don't know. I do know I am happy with the Avon and will be a returning customer.

Love my Metz 200/70-15. 3k miles on it now, and still like new tread, and you can't beat the stick in the corners. The way Metz builds the tire to keep it from "growing" at speed was the deal maker for me.

The larger Avon's (200/70) tend to develop surface cracks which look like dry rot. I purchased a used but almost new wheel and tire second hand and was just going to mount on my cycle when I noticed the cracking. Some of the cracks were deeper than I was comfortable with, so I changed out the tire. Didn't look like it had 3000 miles on it. I now have Metz's and am completely satisfied with them. Did a 2700 mile ride to Sturgis and Colorado with no mishaps. Contacted Avon and they said it was normal for the surface cracks to develop..........Can't say that I was reassured.....

I've got 14,000 on my rear tire and 13,000 on the front (my OEMs were gone at 6000 and 7000). Both are Metz 880's. A lot of the miles were 2 up with a lot of sharp twisties. I'll be due to change the rear in about another 2k-3K miles and the front in about 3-4... The handling has been super on these tires.

Man, I wish I could get that kind of mileage.
I got 7200 out of the stone and at 6500 the metz looks pretty slick.
Though the front looks fine.
My buddy had me sold on a Dunlop E3, but then I found out it doesn't come in a 200.

I think I may try a cobra.

Any problems with a cobra on the back with a metz up front?

Wow... I got 10k out of the Dunflops (probably shoulda changed at 8k), but with 3k on the Metz, I still have like new tread. Expecting 12k+ at the current wear rate. What pressure are you running in the tires that the Metz 880 gave ya less life than the stocker?

I'm running Avon 200-70-15 on the rear and a 90-90-21 Metzler on the front. The Avon seems to be holding better than the Metzler. Both are great tires and probably the two top choices available. Mine is the oposite, the metzler on the front is cracking vs the avon on the rear still looks brand new.

42lbs. Just like the manual says.
My problems are:
a. V2K
b. too many twisties pulling a trailer
c. V2K
