What a crappy riding season this year!

This year has been super wet. I think, at most, I got close to a solid month of consistent riding this year. All the other times, it's hit and miss. No thanks to working evenings, that's when the storms decide to roll in. I should have rain gear, but I don't. Even then, I wouldn't want to ride in the torrential rains we've had lately. Either rate, it's seasons like this one which makes me wonder why I even have a motorcycle.

As we all know, once the bike bug has bitten, there is no turning back. Sell one, then you'll find another in the garage soon, LOL. So, it's like, why even try? I think what frustrates me more than anything is the fact I can't afford more than one. There are so many varieties to choose, it's tough sticking to one bike without wanting to try something else. However, I think the bike bug is starting to wear off. Sure bikes are fun to ride, but they are inconvenient as heck.

Anyways, who else has had a crappy riding season?

I suggest you ride more. There are months when it doesn't rain. Perhaps it's your concept of "season". If you do some "bad" weather won't count.
I ride all year, and your weather can't beat the average of 5 to 9 feet of snow we get, and we hardly zipper our jackets much above 20 degrees.
Once the plows come through - there you go. Crappy season? Never happens. Give it a try.

In the past years, we've had long droughts which provided plenty of good riding weather. No thanks to El Nino, hardly a week goes by without some sort of chances for rain. Just the other day, we got 8+ inches of rain from the hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Next day, a cold front pushed through bringing even more rain. We may not get the snow fall you see, but we do get plenty of sub zero winters and ice. Oh, and snow chains and spikes are illegal in the Midwest. Heck, if my heavy '87 Chevy truck can't handle ice, I'm certain neither will the bike. Who knows, we may see heavy snow this year with all the wet weather we've had.

Man, your predicament is worthy of belonging in the "what a bitch" category. If you want I can send you some info on houses for sale up here in Maine.

I bet you don't wear a heavy leather bike jacket when it's triple digits out. Oh wait, it don't get that hot in Maine.

Actually, I wear a one piece full Joe Rocket suit everytime I swing a leg over. Even when I'm in Florida.

It's been in the 90's here almost every day.

Tomorrow morning we will ride off to breakfast together, enjoying the coolness of an overnight cold front.

My wife wears a jacket, summer or winter.
I tend to wear just a t-shirt and jeans until it gets to be November.

(We both wear gloves, boots, and helmets. We aren't completely insane.)

Am I alone in this?

90's IS hot. Now I'm feeling sorry. Heat and rain? More punishment than anyone deserves!! Ride far. Ride safe.

We've gotten a lot of rain down here this year, more than in years past. I just ride between the puddles.
