Buying parts bike in Canada

I'm looking for advice. I have an opportunity to buy a damaged VN750 ( in Ontario) for $200. The seller is a tow truck operator who only wants to recoup his storage fees. He said the owner told him to keep the bike. There is no paperwork whatsoever; strictly a cash deal. I have no intentions of putting it on the road. Would I be at risk for buying this bike and parting it out?

hi, I owned two vn 750 last year; the 1985 was my riding bike and the 1986 was my parts bike. Very difficult to sell parts because most Vn 750 are located in the USA, very few in Canada, the bike was sold for 20 years without any changes so there are many many parts available on ebay and elsewhere. I sold both bikes last april and got a vn800.
I hope this can help you

Had you tried selling any parts through ebay or a forum from your 1986 parts bike?
