Here's why you get off the interstate

The wife and I were exploring the backroads of western NC yesterday, decided to ride a rather long dead end road. Almost to the end of the road, this is what we stumbled upon.

Can't see THIS from any interstate !!

It's a natural geyser located just outside Old Fort, NC

if you ever find yourself in eastern TN / western NC, we can show you several days of this type of riding. A free lunch is included

some years ago, I took the wife motorcycling with Chapter A of the Gold Wing Road Riders Assn in southwest LA. Some places we traveled, English was a secondary language. Really.

While taking a break somewhere near Crowley, my hillbilly wife looked around in all directions, exclaimed in her TN twang, "everything's so FLAT down here."

When the LORD made east TN / western NC, He was showing off for us flatlanders

While we DO take in a lot of interesting scenery cruising through old, small towns on their "main" streets, exploring the really, really remote back roads hold lots of memories just waiting to be made

Just yesterday, in Marshall, NC, there was an old taxi stand / diner / gas station, complete with all the furnishings as if it we were transported back to the 1930's - 1950's. They even had a model T truck out front parked next to a 1950's Canadian Dodge taxi
