HELP! Can't get back wheel back on`

1600 nomad, pretty much stock. I have the bags off, left pipe down. I CAN NOT get the wheel back on the hub. It seems like it's a very close tolerance which is inderstandable. I need to know what ever tricks there are to get that sucker back on.

On my goldwing, I would lower the bike on it's side for mounting the rear tire. NOt sure if that trick will work here..... HELP...

Never had the wheel off a 1600, but had struggled with another bike with shaft drive. As you know just walking away a few minutes can help sometimes. Eventually the darn thing will see things your way. Glad you got it.

Stitch, Thanks for the support. This whole project has been a crap-shoot from the start. I bought a Shinko tire, not sure of it's overall value, Gold Wing riders call it "Stinko", but some of them are a little... Nose High, if you get my drift.

I was originally going to bust it off the rim myself, but I just had too many steaks on the grill so I took it to a small LBS. It was on a bike jack (the blue LOwes brand) and one of the rubber pads was slipping every time I jerked on the bike. I was starting to get the feeling it was going to fall over on me. I really though the Axle Pin would guide the wheel back on. Took out the axle pin, used my toes to hoist up the tire and it slipped in like.... well, use your imagination.

LOVE this forum....
