How to tell if tube installed correctly?

I just replaced the front tire and tube on my Vulcan 500. I was wondering how can you tell if the installation is good? I don't think I pinched the tube. I aired up the tire to 40psi and let it sit overnight. This morning it was around 38.5 psi. Could there be a leak? I can't hear any air hissing. Maybe it's my tire gauge?

Could also be a leaky valve core. Take off air cap, put a little soapy water on it and see if you get a bubble. If you do, you will probably need to tighten the valve core or replace it.
