Rim swap 94 to 00?

Hey guys. My 94 vulcan a88 just crapped out on me... I just picked up a 00 classic. I was curious to wether or not I could take my powder Coated mags off my 94 and put em on my classic that has spokes. So far I've come to terms with needing a new tire for the front as it's noticeably a different size. Both are single caliper brake systems... But I'm not sure on shaft lineup and axles being the same and such. Has anyone attempted this or know some info? I could always go out and try it but having the answer before trying means I can spend the day with my son instead of testing. Happy sunday. The boy and I are on our way to disassemble the 94 for part out! Eric

Man that bites to hear about you vn88.

The only thing I can help with is that I once parted out a 1997 vn88 and gave away the rear rim to a cousin who has a 2002 vn1500 Classic.
He called back and said that it was a different size and he couldn't use it.
He's not really mechanically inclined and I think he meant it was a 15" and his bike took a 16" rear wheel.

Yea they are def different sizes. I believe I have a 15 rear and 16 front one 00. The front on the 94 is A 19. I didn't know if I could compensate tire differences on the front. The rears an inch different but the tire sizes are close enough to look the same(ish). I just really like my powder coated mags over the wires.

I agree with the mags over the spokes will look killer on the vn1500.

The front will not be a direct bolt-on as the axle diameters are different. It can be done but the bearings and inner spacer will have to be changed.
This has been done with the vn800 and it's the same procedure with the vn1500.
Of course it'll be a lot easier if you just swap out the complete front end.

If the rear is a direct swap other than the tire size then you're in luck.
Tire diameter is not very different specially if a 170 rear can be squeezed in there.

...Regarding the "Parting Out" thread...

I will not be able to use the vn88 wheel as I'm going with a 16" mag wheel.
Thanks for the offer and I hope you can work them out on your scoot.

Appreciate the feedback. I get a front end wobble if I let go over 40. Hoping it's not bearings. Think it's coming from the spoked wheel. Don't want to pay to have it trued. So on that note, do we know if there are any mag wheels that will bolt on? My front end on my 94 is a lot narrower so i don't want to go that road. If I spend money on wheels I want a direct bolt on wheel. Thanks guys
