Throttle cables

So I had my bike stolen the other day, managed to get it back and the sterling gentleman who stole her managed to snap the throttle cable as with other parts....question is when I ask at the shop for a new cable they're asking, "opening or closing?".....it's the cable that leads to the top part of the grip. Is this the opening? Just want to double check before buying.

They're cheap and if he managed to break one the other may let go soon. Play it safe and buy both

I agree with the other member who suggested replacing both.

But, to your question, when you turn the grip to open the throttle/go faster what cable "pulls"?

When you turn the grip to close the throttle/go slower what cable "pulls"?
