Problems starting in the wet

Hi all. I have a 2002 1500 classic that will not start if it gets wet. It turns over. It sparks. It smells of fuel when trying to start. It will run with no problems if it is already running when it gets wet. But if I switch it off it will not start again. Plugs look good and all 4 spark when turning over. Hope someone has some words of wisdom for me. Thanks.

Old or loose plug wires ? had a Sportster back in the 70's that would be hard to start if wet. pulled over out in the boonies when it was pouring down and noticed the fire jumping big time off the wires. Couldn't see it if you were under any lights. Cheap fix if it is.
