Question Loud exhaust problem

I recently purchased a well-cared-for 2008 Nomad 1600. It already has the Vance & Hines exhaust (Classic II) and a FuelPack management module. I love the bike - It's a better ride on the big road than my pure-stock Vulcan 900 Classic. The problem is that the exhaust isn't just throaty, it's extremely LOUD. Has anyone seen this before? Should I uninstall the FuelPack?

That's just the nature of a V Twin with big tube exhaust. You can tone it down a bit by inserting baffles (like I did with my Vance & Hines). These fit fine for me.

These universals would also tone it down some.

Uninstalling the fuel controller isn't going to make the bike any less loud. Your two options are to get a quieter/stock exhaust or install baffles

Thanks for the response. Do the Drag Specialties just slide up inside? What does an installed one look like?

Look into these as well. Smartpartz.com - Hard Kore Quiet Baffles for Vance & Hines Exhausts

There are plenty of before & after videos online.

Thanks. That looks like a good solution. However, the ordering option on the website doesn't work, and both their phone numbers are out of service. I'll try them again later.

Scratch that. Seems Smartpartz went out of business sometime last year.
