Extra o ring after oil change

I have a 2008 Nomad 1600.
I changed the oil, the oil filter and drained the oil through the oil screen. I replaced with new filter, and oil and cleaned the oil screen.
So far things are going well. I emptied my oil catch basin into a plastic bottle for disposal and I found an o ring at the bottom of the catch basin. I measured the inside diameter of the o ring and it is pretty close to 35mm.
I checked my oil filler screen cap, and my oil filler cap and both of these have an o ring on them.I can.t figure out where this o ring should go.
Any ideas?
TIA
Tom

Sure it's not the grommet (part #92071) at the end of the screen? Did you drain the oil via the drain plug or the oil screen?

Drained oil thru oil screen. No it is not the grommet at the end of the screen. The o ring is larger than the grommet.
Thanks for your reply.
