'05 1600 Classic. What is a typical mileage to hit when the cam chain adjuster will need refurb? Thanks.

There really is no set mileage as to when you need to add extenders to the cam chain tension-er. I have heard of people needing it at 30,000 and others who have 80,000 and don't need it. You can check your cam tension-er easily enough to even see if you need them. Here is a good read for you on the subject.

I put Chuckster (gadget) extenders on my Nomad @ 30K miles. Not sure it needed them but did it anyway. Peace of mind.

The original engine in my classic had over 50k miles and it was not a problem yet but I modified them while I was doing other work.

I later transferred the modified tensioners to my new engine with only 9k miles on it, cheap insurance.
