Considering mean streak purchase

I have a chance to purchase a garage kept 2007 Vulcan Mean Streak with under 2500 miles on it for $3500. Any thoughts?

This would be a second bike, I currently have a 2014 NINJA 1000, but looking for something more comfortable.

That's a pretty decent deal. Special edition or regular? Any add on's? Has it been maintained? If not, it'll need all new fluids, filters, etc. Plus if it's the original tires, you'll want to replace those as well. You don't want to be riding on 9 yo tires. Just realize you'll probably drop a few hundred more on that.

I just went through the same thing on mine. 2008 meanie with 5800 miles. Spent another $400 or so on maintenance to bring her up to par.

Kuryakyn ISO grips w/stiletto end caps
Kawi OEM backrest
Kawi Fire & Steel windshield
Bad Ace Billet handlebar risers
Signal Dynamics BackOFF XP brake light module

I doubt that it's been maintained. I think somebody stuck it in a corner of their garage for 10 years. I went to the dealer and inspected it, especially hoses and cables and they all looked good. The dealer (BMW-DUCATI-GUZZI) at least allows test drives.

I was disappointed tho I have a NINJA 1000 and my complaint is my heels are up my butt, with the Meaney my knees are in my chest.

Maybe I need something with floorboards?

If it's at a dealer, they've most likely taken care of the fluids, etc. Double check the tires. They shouldn't be selling a bike with really old tires. It's a liability thing. BTW, check out jardines and mapams forward controls. That'll move your feet up a few inches.

Given the year, mileage and price, I think that's a very good deal if the meanie is solid and sound.
