Coolant Pump Leak

Anyone had an issue with coolant leaking out of the tube connected to the water pump? It appears I need to replace a mechanical seal. I think it is not too difficult a repair, but please chime in if you have anything to share concerning 1600 pump seal replacement.

You need a heat gun to heat the seal or it won't come out,it has a blue sealant around outside of seal, careful because there is another seal between the bearings that keep the oil out of the coolant. If you heat the mechanical seal and use something thin to get under edge and work your way around, the seal will come out. Use a socket that sets on outside edge of seal and tap in the new seal, keep it straight.
I fought mine for about an hour before I used the heat gun and was getting nowhere, had to melt that sealant.
