Luggage rack fitment

I need a cheap flat luggage rack so I can install my new trunk I have coming. It mounts to a luggage rack. It's just a cheap one off of ebay. Anyways I've been looking around and all the cheap 60-70 dollar racks all say either compatible with vulcan 900 or 1500. I dont want to spend $150 bucks on something i'm going to cover up with a big black box.

I have an aftermarket backrest installed into the factory location but was not given a luggage rack with the bike when i purchased it.

So will those cheap racks I have found for the 900 and 1500s bolt up to my bike? I'm thinking they will but I am nervous about ordering one that won't fit.

I've put down many hard miles carving corners, but now it's time to just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery!

What about those flame design ones for the 1600 on eBay ???

They are about 30-40 bucks shipped.

You may have to poke holes or cut them to fit your trunk but they are supposed to bolt up to the factory sissy bar.

Search...
Vulcan 1600 luggage rack

And they should come up...
Might want to ask them their load capacity beforehand...

Daniel, I bought a rack with a back rest, I can run both or just the backrest or just the rack, it's 4 bolts. I drilled the trunk and run small u bolts around the slats on the rack, works slick and to remove the trunk is 4 bolts!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I actually went with the Cobra luggage rack and it bolted up with no modifications. As far as bolting the trunk down I used a mixture of the supplied stuff but i will probably use something else down the road. But it did hold up a 250 mile trip this past weekend with no issues so i think it will be fine for a while anyways.
