Whats this hose for?

So I took off my gas tank, and noticed a hose at the rear of the tank coming out the right side, it wasnt connected to anything, just loose.

The only things I disconnected are the gas line, the 2 electrical connections at the speedo, the 2 electrical connections to the battery (from the gas pump and whatnot), and a rubber hose at the front right side of the tank with a little clip on it. Can anyone tell me what the hose is at the rear right side and if it needs to be connected to anything?
See attached pics, thanks!

Could be the fuel overflow line that drains excess fuel around the gas tank filler neck.
Could be the gas tank air line that draws outside air into the tank to prevent a vacuum in the tank as fuel depletes.

Just run it down underneath the seat beside the frame to the ground and cut off any excess
