belt or chain?

I my vn1600 chain or belt drive? I think it's belt drive.
If that's true, when should I replace the belt? It's got 115,000km on the bike. Is replacing the belt relatively easy to do, or is this something I should leave to the pros ?

eggers,, I think the vn1600 is a shaft drive. ther is no belt or chain. the v16s are same as v15s. kaw didn't belt them till v17.
