1600 Classic rear suspension

I want to replace my OEM shocks (leaking the air) and I'm trying to decide which would be the best length to replace them with. I'm 5'7" & 245lbs if that's a factor. Any input will be appreciated.

May be dumb questions ...

How do you know they are "leaking" ???

Do you have the "special" pump for them ???

You know you can't use a "tire" gauge for them, right?

Apologies if this is rudimentary...

Not dumb at all. I just picked up this 2006 the end of last season, I owned a 97 1500 before this one. I'm not familiar with this suspension and am assuming ( I know not the best thing) it leaked because it bottoms out. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Even at 0 psi you shouldn't bottom...

Still you should get a Progressive shock pump...
Recomend a 0-60 psi version...
It has a no loss connector so you don't lose the air pumped in...

Got mine on eBay for 25 shipped...

Try that first but you may still need new shocks...
Heck I'm 275lbs and @ 0 mine doesnt bottom...
I run mine at 30 psi and 3 on rebound ...
It's great !!!
Lots of mtns, curves and bad road conditions round here...
I like the extra stiffness...

Couldn't find a clear answer for you there BH...

My speculation is late 2005 or 2006...
All the specs I was able to find say 2006 but mine is a 2005.

I've seen pairs of the stock shocks on eBay pretty cheap...
Like 50 bucks...

Guess you could "upgrade" with those if ya ain't digging yours...

BTW,
Is that Bass like a Fender Precision or a Jazz...
Or a Bucketmouth, a Ky spotted, or a Smally ???

Ride on !!!

It's the Fish. I fish tournaments.c

I will be looking into upgrading to the air shocks. I almost always ride 2-up and the suspension is a bit worn I think.
