Need help with the cursed kickstand

It is too short (On my '04 ) as many threads, that I searched, pointed out. Not really a big problem. What I need is something that will add a piece to the bottom of the stand so my shoe/boot can catch it to let it down. That thing is slick and not enough meat to really get a hold of it. Any ideas? I've seen those add on pads that slide onto the bottom for soft sand so it won't bottom out and fall over. Anyone use one of those? If it is secure when it goes on and won't easily bump off when the foot grabs it, it might just do the job. Appreciate any help.

Garage
Try to find (ebay) a used 06+ left side down tube (frame)

half way thru 05, they changed the angle of how the kickstand attaches to the bike...making it lean a lot less.

Drill a hole & bolt a piece of truck tread to the bottom of it, stocking out as far as you like.

I ordered a universal Kuryakyn 7109 Kickstand Extension. It looks like it would do the job at $42. Thanks for the help!

Here's what I did. Not much to look at, but it works great.

Hmmmm, I've seen chrome paint in a spray can. Looks like it is worth a try.
