Freeway Bar Options

I just upgraded from a 900 to a V2K. I am looking for an engine guard (freeway bar), and I am wondering if the guard for a 900 will work on the V2K as there seem to be more options for the 900 and they are cheaper.

I'm pretty sure the guard for a 900 won't fit. I got the Cobra Fatty because it goes all the way across the bottom and protects the oil filter from shrapnel thrown up by the front wheel (my first v2k was totaled this way!). It won't fit the '04 (I don't know what year yours is) without relocating the rectolaterŪ.

My biggest fear is when I die, my wife will sell all my guitars for what I told her I paid for them.

I went with the Baron BA-7170-03. Purchased off eBay. Can be had for $179.88 shipped.

I used the Barons too and since it's not connected to the bike at the top, it vibrates so much I can't keep my highway pegs up. I took them off after I stripped out the bolts tightening them up.

the cobra fatty looks and works very well, if you already got the Baron look for a way to connect it to the upper part of the frame, it looks to me the way that it attaches it would not do it's job completely and bend right away on any minor fall.
