How about a self tapping drain plug like used for oil pan drains, available at most auto parts stores. If that wont work, only other thing I can think of is a heli-coil. I had to used the self tapping drain plug on my oil pan 2 years ago. still working fine with 5-6 oil changes a year.
Doesn't take too much to strip that little bugger. I overtightened my plug and ruined it. I ended up taking a feeler gauge and running up into the clutch case to find out how much room I had. I tapped the hole out to a non-metric pipe thread, 1/4 NPT I think, and ran a standard plug in CAREFULLY this time. Still good.
