DFI fault 12 flashes

Hi all I bought a vn2000 from a guy who lives on the coast, I rode the bike for two days and then suddenly it died on me.the cluster still went on but I couldnt get the bike going again.I finally got her to my garage where I started to do my research I found that I could get the fault code on the DFI off it and then I could refer this code back to the service manual after pulling the code and having it flash for 12 times before a multiple burst of flashes which I couldn't count fast enough.I then looked what the 12 flashes were and it says that it is a problem with the throttle sensor,am I correct in saying this and if I am what would be my next steps thanks

I am a little confused. Are you saying the led flashes 12 times or are you saying it flashes the code 12 (1 long, 2 short)?

It doesn't give a number on the vn2000 only flashes to give a fault on the LED well that's what I read in the sevice manual I could be wrong

To arrive at a code 12, you should get the LED to flash a long and two short flashes, long space, repeated over and over again, provided there are no other codes.
Is that what you are getting?

I see, It does have like a pulse image next to the code 12 in the manual but I didnt see a code for 12 flashes so I assumed it was error code 12 but yes 12 long flashes and a burst of another +~ 10 flashes and it repeats that sequence until I stop the diagnosis could you perhaps help me with that now that there is some sort of understanding

OK, for example, after entering diagnostic mode, if the LED flashes 1 long and 2 short times , that would be a code 12. If that is the only code present, then you would see

Long flash, short flash, short flash, no flash rest, long flash, short flash, short flash, no flash rest. This will continue to repeat.

If there were 2 codes present, say a 12 and a 21, then you would see:

Long flash, short flash, short flash, rest (code 12), long flash, long flash, short flash Code 21. It will repeat starting with the first code again.

The long flashes represent the most significant code digit (the tens unit) and the short represent the least significant digit (the ones unit) and the number of flashes represent the actual digit.
