Didn't Start/ Battery Posts Dirty

Went to start the 07 V2K yesterday and it would not crank over. Thought the battery may have been low in its charge so I took the seats off and hooked up the charger. It read that it was at 95% charge before it started the charge. The positive post had a little acid buildup on it so I cleaned it and tipped off the charge to 100%.
She then cranked over and started.
Thus is the second time I had to do this since February.
Is this a common occurrence with this model? If not, what can be done so this doesn't happen so frequently?

They have a battery protector spray that might help prevent corrosion.

I recently went rough something similar. Starter would occasionally drag a bit, then turn over and fire. Started putting a battery tender on it did fine for a while, then dropped me one evening a bit over an hour from home. Mine would also show voltage as well as a high charge percentage. Took the batt, which btw still showed 12.4 volt and had it load tested, and tahdah, 0 amps. Open cell or cells in batt.
