Smile How to switch to reserve, 92 500

Hi all,
I have my second ride, first was a scooter. This one's a 92 EN 500 (Vulcan, of course).

2 related things. One- I'd like to download. Users manual, any ideas where?

2nd-where's my reserve switch? Got the bike from my brother, he showed me this winter, I forgot.

Thanks!

Hi Vulcans,
I found the reserve switch-phew! (on the left).

Now i'm wondering how much gas the reserve holds. Thanks!

Garage
depends on the bike, but the reserve is usually less than a gallon. It was like .7 or .9 gal on my old VN700 and it's .9 on my wife's Shadow. Just remember, flip the petcock forward to keep going forward! And then go get gas!

You should be able to download an owner's manual from:

http://www.kawasaki.com See the left hand side for "Purchase Manuals" click on that and then plug in our model info. It's a free download...

Luciferiad,
Thanks! That range lets met know. I'm planning to ride the first few tanks to the reserve (= no trips) so I can get an idea of the mileage range of the tank for in-town rides. I'm also still getting the hang of when to shift. Greenjeans

MnV500,
Thanks! It worked just as you said. I'll be back to that site!
I already read a bunch of the manual. It listed tank size (3.6), which was good to know. I also learned I've got a lock.

You guys are great! Greenjeans
