Hazard you wouldn't expect, warning!

Hey guys, just wanted to pass this along as it might save somebody some skin or broken bones. I was recently out riding on a beautiful warm sunny afternoon exploring some rural subdivisions in the area and came across a development that had a lake. There was a concrete spillway that went over the road. The water flowing over the road was only about 1/32" deep if that, so no fear of being washed away by the current. What I did not know is that there was a micro-thin layer of moss under the water. It was just like riding out onto a solid sheet of ice! Both wheels started to slide out from under me. I was able to plant a foot down hard and bounce myself back up only to have to do the same thing with the other foot before I got across the water. I did not brake and did pull the clutch in while I was wrestling my 1500 classic. Did not go down, but it was as close to going down as I ever want to experience. Hope this helps some riders who did not already know this.

Ride Safe

Yup! Water, sunshine and time = stuff grows. Just like the wood deck on a house except, you cannot do anything but avoid and be aware.
