New Bike Tomorrow!!! Just in time for Spring!

Hey folks!

For the past year I been riding a 2009 VN 500LTD. Good solid bike; my first bike. I put 4K miles on it this past year, so obviously I liked it. In fact, I liked it so much, that tomorrow morning I'm gonna purchase a 2001 VN 800 classic. Pretty stoked about it, it's got a lot more power (as I'm sure you all know) and barely has any miles, only 2900! I feel I'm making out pretty good!

My question is this... I'm a small guy (5'4" when I'm not slouching) And I'm thinking I might want some risers, although I don't necessarily need them. Does anyone who is around my height have any experience with risers?

Thanks!
Nighttrain

Hi nighttrain! I'm 5'5" and put the Scootworks risers on my 500. Definitely made the bike much more comfortable for me.

Thanks, Red Rider! Did you use the Riser Extensions or the PhatRisers? If you used the PhatRisers, can you use them with the stock handlebars? If the Extensions, was the installation difficult?

I used the extensions made by Scootworks. On the 500 you have to go with new handlebars if you go with the Phat Risers. Not sure about the 800.
